It’s 2010!
Jan 1st
The new year is here everybody, and I’m convinced that this post is most likely akin to almost every other bloggers new year post; “The new year is here!” announcements, and “new years resolutions” are being scattered all over the webernet, and that’s the same gist of this post, so stop reading now and go make your own new years resolutions. Or, keep reading and hear my fantastic new years resolutions.
In the year 2010 I have three goals: (well, three goals worth mentioning)
- Blog – I’m very intrigued by blogging (don’t ask me why) and want to take a more active role in the blogging community.. (I guess?). “Why?”, you ask (although I told you not to). Because the other day I sat down and read some of my older blog posts (actually, they were my most recent posts but I hadn’t blogged in about 3 months). Reading them was rewarding in that I realized how crappy of a writer I am (something that I hope to improve by blogging), and also I found that I could somehow travel back to the day of the post and relive my emotions and experiences (sounds stupid, I know). That inspired me to keep writing. I don’t want to forget my childhood (or any part of my life, really) and blogging is an excellent way to keep that from happening.
- Develop a successful iPhone application – iTissue was released a couple of days ago and due to an error on Apples behalf, was not displayed in the Entertainment category of the iTunes App Store where it belonged. It should have had at least half a day on the front page of the Entertainment category because they sort the applications by release date. However, when iTissue was finally added to the Entertainment category, it was already on page three of the new releases and has not gotten any noticeable publicity (that I know of). Regardless, I have been spending the last few days marketing iTissue and trying to generate some hype over it (basically spamming people
kidding). I’ve learned an immense amount from my experiences developing, releasing, and marketing iTissue and I want to put this information to good use… Thus my desire to develop another iPhone application, and hopefully a successful one! I refuse to sink miserably into developer oblivion. - Start life on my own – I’m done with school now, I’m ready to live on my own, I want to move some place warmer ; This one has many reasons behind it. The only issue in this is money (isn’t it always?), which is why I’m trying my very best to make iTissue a success.
Happy New Year people! Good luck with your resolutions!
Joe out.
iTissue Press Release

Have a runny nose? With iTissue you’ll never need worry again!
iTissue, an interactive tissue simulation application, just launched on iTunes App Store!
Coudersport, Pennsylvania – December 29, 2009 – Independent developer Joe Henry, has launched iTissue, an interactive tissue simulation application, on the iTunes App Store.
Although tissues aren’t usually a big part of life, we all use them, and iTissue simulates that experience bringing out the fun in it with cute graphics and hilarious interaction!
The iPhone has many unique features that developers can take advantage of to make creative and interactive applications. iTissue does just this but in a way never before seen on the iPhone; “iTissue gets the user to physically interact with the iPhone, but in a more exaggerated way than just tapping the screen with a finger,” said Henry.
The idea behind iTissue is extremely simple. The user pulls a tissue out of a tissue box and rubs their nose on the tissue (or iPhone) to produce boogers. The user can vary the number of boogers put on the tissue by rubbing their nose for a longer period of time, or just tapping the screen with their nose. After the user has filled the tissue with boogers or is done with the tissue they crumple it up and toss it off-screen – a somewhat ironic action, ignoring the trash can in the background.
Features:
* High quality, cute cartoon graphics
* Refined user experience and interaction
Minimum Requirements:
* iPhone OS 3.0 or higher
* iPhone or iPod touch
Pricing and Availability:
iTissue is available on the iTunes App Store for $0.99 in both the Entertainment and Games categories.

Things are starting to happen…

It’s been a while since I’ve last blogged. About three months actually. A lot’s going on.
First, I’ve graduated. Well, that actually happened about three or four months ago but I haven’t told you about it yet. I’m still waiting on my Dad to send in for my diploma (Homeschooling rocks, right?).
I went to a camp last week and made some awesome friends; Just about the first friends I’ve ever had in the tiny town I live in. (I’ve lived here for 12 years now. Again, homeschooling rocks, right?).
So I’ve been hanging out with them some. Yesterday we went to Olean and saw a movie… Unchaperoned, which was a first in my family.
My boss was fired while I was at camp… Which sucks. The new boss hollered at me while I was out on the golf course with a bunch of friends once. And now he’s my boss. =/ I don’t like to complain so I’ll stop here and save you all the creepy stories. =)

CRAZY DAY! I went to work and had a hectic day… Work really isn’t too much usually but today we were getting new golf carts and so I was bussy driving them around and dealing with golfers who can’t schedule tee times at the same time.
After work I went down town and applied for, and scored, a job at Empereon Marketing as a sales person! I was pretty psyched about this because it meant that I could quit work at the golf course where I worked (That’s a good thing =) )!
So evidently I have to wear kakis to this new job which I’m not too psyched about but it’s still a pay raise and more hours (full-time work actually), so I’m excited about that.
Then I went to the PA motor vehicle department and took my road test for my drivers license! I got my permit last year in September so it was about to expire so I decided to just get my drivers license. I passed the test. Not to much more to say about that. It’s really not as scary as people say it is. Now I can’t drive though because I don’t have any insurance… It’ll be about a week before I get any.
I’m going on vacation tomorrow to Keuka lake with the fam! It’s going to be a blast! Water-skiing, water-tubbing, all that fun stuff. =)
So things are good. They definitely can get better… Or they could get worse.
I’m hoping for the better.
Quick awesome update
Apr 21st
Okay, just to keep all my faithfull readers informed I am writing an update.
I’ve been pretty bussy with work lately (golf club pro shop =] ) and school and all.
Big news is that I just finished the first draft of another screen play! (If you’d like to read my first screenplay you can find it here.) I’m not sure about the name right now, so I have absolutely nothing to tell you about it at the moment.
I’m hoping to have it pretty well finished by the end of the week so I’ll be sure to post it then.
Ah, I really don’t want my blog to be a cliche so I’m not just going to tell you about what’s been happening in my life right now. =] Maybe that’s dumb.
Regardless, I have things to go do.
Joe out.
Jarred
Apr 16th
“Jarred” is the first screenplay I have ever written. I wrote it in ‘07 or ‘08… I cant’ remember.
“Jarred” takes place in an office setting, and follows a few days of the life of Jarred Fuller. In this short time Jarred realizes that life isn’t all about money, but about friendship, and that you don’t have to overcome all your problems by facing them, but that sometimes avoiding them and moving on is the way to go…
It’s finished
Apr 14th
Wow.
My website is finished. I think this truely is a momentous moment. And the Jesse McCartney Music in the background really makes it touching =]
I have one or two tweaks still to work on, but really I’m pretty much done.
Making a website has been a huge item on my to-do list for a long time and I feel great being able to check it off.
Of course, new things will take it’s place but that’s just life…
Peace.
